After hours and holiday appointments carry an additional $20 fee. However, if you book a holiday or weekend morning appointment in advance, the after hours fee will be waived. Plan ahead and save!

Notaries Do Not Prepare Documents

California Business and Professions Code § 6125 prohibits non-lawyers from acting as attorneys. The section defines the unauthorized practice of law, prohibiting anyone who is not a licensed attorney from engaging in activities considered “practicing law” in California. Such activities include providing legal advice, representing clients in court, or preparing legal documents for others as a service, unless under the supervision of a licensed attorney. The code aims to protect the public by ensuring only qualified individuals handle legal matters. Violations can lead to penalties, including fines or criminal charges.

California Business and Professions Code § 6125 states: “No person shall practice law in California unless the person is an active licensee of the State Bar.”
